Childhood Dream

This is one of my recent paintings. It explores the themes of childhood and dreams. The background is made up of retro colours that can be found around the lane ways of Melbourne's northern suburbs. Cracked painted fences, old weatherboard homes and decaying brick walls come together to create a dream like atmosphere. Childhood memories are symbolised by the silk screened vintage tricycle imagery. I sometimes battle with the thought that those childhood feelings are only memories. Ultimately this is a reminder to cherish those moments and that every moment is a memory for my own child.
