I’ve been living with these works for a while now. As with a lot of my work they explore the theme of ‘One’s Self'. A lone figure in a surreal yet familiar landscape. I was exploring the atmosphere of the beach and landscape and how we are drawn to it. It demands your attention and it’s impossible not to stare out into the nothingness and dream of what is beyond the horizon. For a short moment time seems to stand still and everything else disappears, its just you, the ocean or landscape and to a larger extent the universe. It is a time to reflect and dream. Which brings me back to the journey of one’s self.
